Summer Skin Care Reminders
Take a moment to reevaluate your skincare routine this month and give it the attention it deserves in the heat of Baltimore, MD! Today, the Marketplace at Fells Point Blog has reminders for things you should be doing to keep your skin looking and feeling refreshed all season long.
Skin cells die, and those dead skin cells make your skin look dull and unappealing. Scrub those away by exfoliating and reveal the healthy, beautiful skin underneath! Exfoliating does more for your skin than just removing the dead particles. It also helps the skin cells regenerate quickly, which gives you a more youthful look.
It’s easy to forget to moisturize, but it’s especially important during the summer. Along with hydrating, moisturizing gives your skin more elasticity and prevents it from drying out. Save yourself from painful cracking skin and an ashy appearance by moisturizing every day!
Hydration is a great way to keep your skin clear and glowing. The amount of water you should drink every day can be dependent on many factors including age, sex, weight, and your level of health. Although there isn’t a “one-size-fits-all” amount to drink, there is a recommended amount. For women, it’s 91 ounces and for men, it’s 125 ounces. This amount, though, is taking into account all liquid that is consumed daily, including that which is in our food. If you’re eating lots of fruits and vegetables each day, you won’t need to drink that much water.
This is important for everyone, but especially for those who intend on being out in the sun a lot. Keep your skin protected from the harmful UV rays. Remember to reapply your sunscreen periodically through the day and after swimming. Being diligent with it will reduce your risk for skin cancer and uncomfortable sunburns!
